There are a lot of expressions that cover life’s less than perfect days. No one ever promised me a rose garden and if you’ve ever owned roses, you know they are a ton of work. I don’t want a rose garden. Well, maybe if I had someone to take care of them for me. Hold the stem carefully between the thorns and clip – ouch! The stem swings back and nails you anyway. Life is like that rose bush. It’s thorny.
It’s beautiful, wonderful, and sweet, and if the deer don’t attack it, the Japanese beetles will! You spray, feed and give it the very best care. Poems have been written about it. It’s the symbol of love. It’ll cost a fortune and devour your time, but we all want it. That perfect rose. That emblem of a perfect life.
But there are times when everything goes wrong. I’ve always considered myself an optimist, but let’s face it, not everything works the way we think it should and sometimes the dragon wins! I found this picture on Facebook and I’ve loved it.
